"The 2021 Barolo DaGromis from Gaja is a striking and beautifully composed wine that highlights the strength of this exceptional vintage. It opens with lifted aromatics of ripe red cherries, crushed roses, orange peel, and subtle spice, all framed by a refined mineral backbone. On the palate, it is layered and precise, with silky tannins and vibrant acidity driving notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, licorice, and savory earth. There’s an impressive balance between elegance and depth, with a long, persistent finish that continues to build with air. While already compelling, it has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next two decades."
