VINOUS 94 The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Clajeux Vineyard, from a site in Chalk Hill, is fabulous. Fresh, aromatic and surprisingly light on its feet, the Clajeux packs a real punch. Wild flowers, chalk and white pepper are some of the many notes that give the 2015 an unusual sense of lift and brightness that is unusual in 2015.
Founded in 2001 by two childhood friends, Arnot-Roberts has played a huge part in advocating for naturally produced, single-vineyard bottlings from California. Fruit for ‘Clajeux’ comes from its namesake growing site located in the Mayacamas Mountains, which is cool and rocky, giving way to slow flavor development and great retainment of acidity. The 2015 is balanced & vibrant, with soil-driven notes of red fruit; perfect with grilled red meats!
