Tucked away in the Apennine mountains of Marche, near Italy's eastern coastline, Bisci is an organic estate, producing wines from estate-owned vineyards. The wines are excellent. High altitude fruit, fermented and aged in cement tanks, and left on the lees for 8 months. This is filled with freshness, bright citrus and apple, while remaining deliciously balanced with honeydew melon and white flowers.
"Brothers Giuseppe and Pierino Bisci founded Bisci 50 years ago, and have made it a reference for the region. Giuseppe’s sons Mauro and Tito now farm 20ha of organic vineyards at up to 370m, 17ha for the Verdicchio di Matelica wines. Fogliano is a selection from the best site, and is produced only in top vintages: fermented and matured for 15 months in cement vats.
