Vibrant and juicy wine from the Jumilla region of Spain, the fruit for this wine comes from old vines grown in chalky limestone. This purple-colored wine offers superb aromatics of wood smoke, damp earth, violets, and blueberry pie.
The Juan Gil Silver Label defines Jumilla, a hot, sunny, and dry region located in Southeastern Spain where the thick-skinned Monastrell grape thrives. Known internationally as Mourvèdre, this grape needs a lot of heat and sunshine to ripen fully. And when it does, look out! The flavors of blueberries and even chocolate jump out of the glass. This is the perfect wine to have with friends when there is a grill around. As a bonus, over 94% of the grapes grown here are organic. Also, the oldest remains of Vitis Vinifera seeds were discovered here dating back to 3000 BC. That's over 5000 years of viticultural history in Jumilla.
