Named for Paul Autard’s two children, Jules and Pauline, this cuvée is a blend of 50% Syrah from 55-year old vines on a parcel with sandy soil and 50% Grenache from 80-year-old vines from a parcel with "galets roulés" (famed round stones) and sand. Dark violet with aromas of ripe berries, fig, and plum, with a hint of vanilla spice. On the palate, floral notes and ripe fruit mingle with smoke and spice for a chewy texture and lengthy finish.

Wine Spectator
A dark, winey style, with lots of fig, plum and blackberry paste flavors layered together, with sweet tobacco, licorice snap and warm earth accents filling in. Packed but defined, with a graphite spine through the finish and well-embedded acidity stretching it all out.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah, barrel-fermented and then matured in barriques for 20 months, the 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape Juline is named for Jules and Pauline, the next Autard generation. It's inky in hue, with smoky nuances but better integration of oak than in the Cuvée la Cote Ronde and immensely concentrated notes of ripe black cherries, plums and salted licorice. Full-bodied and intense
