Uchizy, whose vineyard faces East gives delicious wines. It is particularly true in the case of our Mâcon-Uchizy Climat « La Martine » made from 50+ year-old vines. In the village they say that La Martine (roll the « rrr »s pronoucing « La Marrrrrtine ») once was the governess of famous French romantic poet Lamartine, a son of the Mâconnais. The soil has always been ploughed in this plot, a rather deep soil of clay and limestone, with loads of small limey stones. All contributes to the production of a rich, fruity, generous wine.
The 2021 Macon Uchizy "La Martine" boasts a crisp and fresh flavor profile with hints of citrus and floral notes. Its vibrant acidity makes it an ideal companion for seafood dishes and light salads.
