Located just outside the village of Richelieu and not far from the Chinon appellation is Domaine de la Garreliere. Founded in the early 1970's by Pascale & Francois Plouzeau this 20 hectare estate is considered one of the leaders of the biodynamic farming movement in the Touraine. The grapes are typically picked late in the season to insure optimal ripening and are picked at very low yields. This 100% Cabernet Franc is named after a local cherry dogwood tree. It's a cherry-colored, medium-bodied wine filled with aromas of bell pepper, raspberry and licorice.
