This particular white is a blend of 85% Sauvignon and 15% Chardonnay. After the grapes are picked they receive a short maceration followed by pressing. After fermentation the wine lies on its fine lees for up to 12 months before bottling. The Cheverny Blanc has been described as a junior Sancerre with intense gooseberry crispness.
A pale lemon-yellow in the glass. Delicate, fragrant aromas of citrus fruits, green orchard fruits and hazelnuts.. On the palate, dry yet expansive with a reasonably full body. The flavours are clean and refreshing leading to an aromatic finish. The balance between the zesty Sauvignon and the rounder Chardonnay works very well.
