Earthy plum and blackberry aromas are ripe and wild, with cola and herbal undertones. A jammy, saturated palate is lusty but loose, while plum, stewed blueberry and herbal green notes share the flavor profile.
100% Malbec from 30 year old vines planted on sandy/stony soil in Yocachuya (“clear water”), Calchaquíes Valley, province of Salta, at 6,500 feet above sea level. The grapes are hand-harvested early April. 25 days of maceration, fermentation for 15 days in concrete tanks, with selected indigenous yeasts. 30% of the wine is aged for 8 months in second-use French oak barrels while the rest is transferred to stainless steel tanks. Both are then blended and aged for an additional 4 months in stainless steel tanks. Unfined, light filtration. Ripe plum, tobacco, savory, mineral. 14.5% alcohol. 40,000 bottles produced.
