Riesling does very well in the Finger Lakes, and this bottle is no exception. It boasts a beautiful nose of honey and peaches, followed by pear, lemon, and minerality on the palate. Fruit and acidity are in balance, and the finish is silky-smooth.
Times are tough. You deserve a glass of Riesling. And you shouldn’t have to pay German or (heaven forbid!) Austrian prices for it, either. Let me let you in on a little secret: New York wines are really, really good! New York wineries are quietly making elegant, balanced wines that can compete with their old-world counterparts at a much more affordable price. Take Dr. Frank’s Riesling home for a swirl and see what I mean: aromatically complex with both floral and orchard fruit notes, a bit of lees adding weight and character and a clean, dry finish with a lingering mineral note.
