The top cuvée, from 10 rows ,which went into the library and are released as library wines from time to time. Currently this 2014 and 1994 are available, presented together as they are similar vintages. The nose has very nicely aligned yet complex aromas that span from fresh wild cherries to earth, sliced strawberries, spice and game meaty nuances, all tightly integrated. The palate has a very pure, sleek and utterly delicious, balanced and fluid feel with such impressive pink fruit sweetness and an array of fine tannins that sit discreetlys with the fleshy fruit. Long and very unevolved, this has x-factor appeal. Drink over the next decade or more.
Vinous 95 points
Translucent red. Expressive, mineral-accented red berry preserve, cherry and floral pastille aromas show outstanding clarity and pick up hints of Asian spices and savory herbs with air. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and cherry flavors that deliver solid punch while coming off graceful, even delicate in character. Finishes extremely long, with emphatic floral thrust and silky, slowly building tannins that fold smoothly into the wine's sappy, incisive fruit. These vines were planted by Jason Lett's father, David, in 1968.
