Henri Giraud - Fut de Chene MV20 Ay Grand Cru Brut 2020 (750ml)

This is a rich wine with a deep, complex nose and delicious notes of butter, pastry, biscuit, almond, ripe yellow fruit (apricot), cherry, mint and spices such as cinnamon and aniseed. On aeration, the typical wood notes are present, along with vanilla, malt and tobacco. The palate is complex and layered. Round, creamy and concentrated, with light tropical notes of mango. The stone fruit of the Pinot comes through, and the palate is full-bodied with good chewiness. The wine is vinous without being overpowering. The finish is energetic, well-balanced and mineral with a hint of salt and umami. A lingering finish of minerality and limestone, with a hint of menthol at the back of the palate.
