Jean-Louis Chave sources the fruit for this wine from some of the finest vineyards in the Southern Rhône. The wine is true Chave, but in a different register, more like Châteauneuf than Hermitage, and for a fraction of the price. A strong mineral component comes across without effort on this very fine red. Reserve for a special occasion over braised or grilled gigôt of lamb.
A blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. This Côtes du Rhône wine presents with dark fruity berries along with rich tannins and a soft texture.
Louis Chave Selections, his négociant line which sources grapes from various areas in the northern Rhône, represents a more accessible way for the consumer to experience the wines of the Chave family. “Mon Coeur” Côtes-du-Rhône is a blend of excellent plots in Vinsobres, Visan, Buisson, and Estargues.
Domaine Jean-Louis Chave has been a household name for centuries not only in the Rhone Valley, but throughout the world. This domain has been inherited from father to son since 1481, and it is today run by Jean-Louis, who has taken it over from his father Gerard, who is still on the sidelines.
