The Graacher Himmelreich Auslese comes from the excellent Himmelreich vineyard at the southern end of the Graach village. This large, steep vineyard is grown in weathered blue slate soils facing southwest, providing ample warmth and sunshine for optimal ripeness. The Auslese is exceptionally concentrated and complex with layers of spice, florality, stone fruit, and slate minerality. The palate is intense and textural ripe fruit mingling with savory herb and spice, but not overwhelmingly sweet. The long and layered finish unveils more and more flavor as it goes and wraps up with a fine saline tautness.
