50% 14-day skin-contact Pinot Gris from Columbia Gorge AVA • 50% blended with Ovum’s Big Salt cuvée • Fermented & aged for 6 months in neutral barrel • Nothing added except SO2, 40 ppm total • Unfined and unfiltered • 12.9% abv
It has a sunset cranberry color that comes as a result of Pinot gris skins being blended with the tangerine hues of Big Salt. It’s aromas remind me of a carrot orange creamsicle stirred into a cup of hibiscus tea, steeped with autumnal spices. Roasted carrot, ginger, red apple skin are on the palate. THIS WINE IS NOT FRESH LIKE BIG SALT, it's more like if Big Salt were a red wine. I hope you will find this strange wine as intriguing and pleasurable as we do.
