Founded in 2002, Savvoglou Tsivolas aims to produce distinctive, organic wines from this historic region. Limnos, the sacred land of Efaistos (the greek god Hephaestus) floats between Mount Athos and the Dardanelles. Known from the era of Homer for its famous wines, Limnos “Ambeloessa”, has been a benchmark for fine Greek wine through the centuries. This red is made entirely from the Limnio variety, an indigenous grape known to produce Aristotle's favorite wine, which thrives in the volcanic soils of Limnos.
Soft on the palate, ruby in color and full of aromas of fresh, red forest fruits and aromatic herbs. The wine has a bit of smokiness and leather, with a balanced acidity to keep it lively.
