The 2017 Crémant has inviting aromas of baked peach, puff pastry and spiced citrus that are highlighted by hints of honey, ginger and cinnamon. The palate is rounded with bright flavors of pineapple, candied citrus and sugar brûlée, which lead to a creamy, well-balanced finish.

This is a charming sparkler made from 65% Flora, 33% Chardonnay and 2% Pinot Noir, barrel-fermented and given a touch of balanced sweetness. Vanilla bean and white-peach flavors combine around a rich center of lush texture and lasting freshness.

There are times when a slightly sweeter sparkling wine is called for, and, year in and year out, there are few, if any, better local examples to be found than the Schramsberg Cremants. The 2017 edition is a juicy, insistently bubbled effort with a creamy palatal feel, and, though possessing 3.5% residual sugar, it is very well balanced with a gentle, but clearly evident complement of yeast. Never cloying in the least, it will not only serve famously with fruity desserts but will handily turn the trick as a light dessert by itself after a heavy meal.
