Notes of asphalt, camphor and creosote mark the nose of Shirvington's 2017 Shiraz, so readers are best advised to decant in advance (unless you're into those sorts of things...). Once past those scents, mixed berries emerge, along with notes of cedar and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied, this is a moderately rich, creamy-textured wine on the palate, with softly dusty tannins on the finish that suggest at least 5–7 years of aging potential. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. Rating: 90+
