"Pungent bright berries, cherry compote and musky herbs on the nose, with sexy rose and incense qualities gaining strength with air. Broad and fleshy on entry, then turns nervier in the middle palate, showing dense cherry and floral flavors. Dusty tannins add grip and focus to the long, precise finish."
Once the reductive notes blows off, which only takes a few minutes of swirling in glass, you'll find a rather pretty, billowy nose of ripe red and black berries, violets, black olives, dried leaves and cumin. Medium to full in weight, there's a good lick of dusty, peppery tannins around the plump fruit, with lifted acidity keeping everything in balance. There's power and weight to this wine.
