Green-apple candy on the nose with a whiff of a just-opened can of tennis balls and a squeeze of lemon leads onto a palate that's sunny with lemon-lime flavor and a salty, just-crushed rock finish.
At Regaleali the indigenous Sicilian grape variety Catarratto is cultivated up to 900 metres above sea level. It is a very late ripening grape, in fact it is the variety that ripens the latest, even later than the reds, and hence brings the harvest season to a close. The result is a wine of sublime quality, stripped of the coarse qualities the variety usually has in lower coastal areas. Regaleali believes very strongly that "if you have an ounce of common sense, Sicilian Catarratto is the right variety to cultivate."
Hence they have given their Catarratto the name "Buonsenso", meaning wisdom, and yet also because it tastes good and pleases the senses.
