In the glass, the wine displays a vivid ruby hue. The nose is expressive and complex, offering aromas of ripe red cherries, blackberries, and wild strawberries, accented by hints of violets, earthy spices, and a whisper of forest floor. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and well-structured, with fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity framing the wine’s core of juicy red and dark fruits. Subtle notes of black tea and a touch of minerality lend depth, leading to a long, harmonious finish. Grapes grown on 40+ year-old-vines. Fermented with indigenous yeast. Aged in French oak (20% new).
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
In 2005, brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet founded Bachelet-Monnot. In no time, their wines were turning the heads of even the most seasoned Burgundy tasters.
These are revelatory expressions of Burgundy. The amount of finesse and luminous mineral precision that they are able to tease out is astonishing.
