Volnay Ronceret is located low on the slope, below En Champans. This is a charming wine, ethereal, lightly perfumed, and a cool girl with a refined, almost Parisian, charm. Its variations on raspberries are very sensual, and it’s a vin d’émotion in its delicacy. Delicious, and one of my favourites.

Very ripe yet still reasonably fresh aromas are comprised by notes of cassis, black cherry liqueur and kirsch. The succulent, rich and plush flavors possess both fine richness and focused power on the chalky, bight and sneaky long finish that is firm enough to repay up to a decade of keeping. (90-92)/2030+
