Deep, moderately full ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim. The wine has an enticing bouquet, penetrating concentrated aromas of red and dark cherries, black raspberries with suggestions of plums, entwined with forest floor, floral and savoury elements. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly presented, bright aromas of cherries, raspberries with a hint of concentrated plums enriched by black pepper, liquorice roots and dark herbs, unfolding forest floor and florals. The fruit is concentrated, pure, linger with depth and elegance. Supple, powdery tannin lightly coated the palate with a soft grip, along with lacy acidity framed a poised structure. This is an elegant Pinot Noir with purity and fruit intensity, structured by lacy acidity, powdery tannin to a lingering finish. Match with smoked duck and braised pork over the next 6+ years. Fruit was sourced from Gibbston, fermented in open-top fermenter to 13.7% alc, aged 10 months in barrels, 28% new oak. Vegan friendly.

Fleshy raspberry and blueberry open this plush, focused Pinot, backed by heady baking spice aromas with a lick of wellplaced mocha and mint oak influence. Medium weight, there’s tart cherry freshness and a tug of spicy, leathery tannins in the mouth. Structured for the long haul, but approachable now with a hearty meal, this is a serious Pinot that will last until 2032 at least.
